Simon Hewins

Simon Hewins has programming experience dating back to the early 1980's. For the past seven years, he has been working in the I.T. professional services industry as an I.T. Consultant - five of which he worked for a leading US Consultancy company, Sapient. Here (amongst other projects) he was responsible for the design, implementation and rollout of the technical infrastructure that underpinned the UK Government's Portal.

He has worked on all phases of a project's lifecycle from initial business requirements gathering, through business and technical design, development, to testing, rollout and support. Throughout his career Simon has programmed in Java J2EE, C++, Visual Basic, and Unix scripting. He has application development experience with Oracle, Sybase and SQL Server databases.

Simon is currently contracting for the Royal Bank of Scotland working in a 24x7 support team that is responsible for the bank's critical payment systems and infrastructure.
